This turret rewinder is a fully automated machine built for high-accuracy processing of flexible roll stocks. It handles edge trimming and re-slitting for a wide array of films – BOPP, PET, OPP, PE, PVC, laminated composites, and vacuum-metallized types – and is a mainstay in flexible packaging, commercial printing, and plastic converting shops.
Key structural upgrades tackle the usual headaches with thin webs: tension-induced stretch, lateral wandering, and wrinkling. Instead of copying the over-complicated mechanical cutters found on older units, this design emphasises clean edge finishing and even web layering. The turret rewinder finished rolls come out with smooth, nick-free sides and tightly packed windings, easily passing the tight quality checks of high-volume production.

The frame is built from 60-mm thick high-tensile steel plate – rigid, rock-steady, and free from vibration even after days of heavy running. Total connected load is 28 kW on a standard 380V three-phase supply. The layout is compact and sensible, fitting easily into most plant floors and lining up with automated upstream/downstream gear.
On the unwind side, a single-station shaftless hydraulic feeder takes both 3-inch and 6-inch cores, with an effective width range of 200–1100 mm and a maximum roll weight of 1500 kg. Magnetic-powder tension control and the CCD system work together to keep the web moving smoothly – no stretching, no sagging, no wandering.
The pull-roll section uses a 7.5 kW servo motor with pneumatic nip rollers (rubber-covered and chrome-plated steel) to give even, positive traction. Constant tension throughout the run stops the film from elongating, crinkling, or distorting, which is the foundation for good finished rolls.
A four-station turret with automatic splicing handles roll changes – four differential winding spindles, each driven by two independent 7.5 kW servos. The sequence (station indexing, flying splice, push-off unloading) runs hands-off, slashing labour costs and raising throughput. A centrifugal blower blows trim waste sideways into a collection duct, keeping the area clean and production uninterrupted.
Control is via a Siemens PLC (industrial-grade, made in Germany) and a Kunlun Tongtai colour touchscreen – clear, intuitive, and operator-friendly. Staff just type in the main process values and let the turret rewinder do the rest. Built-in features include automatic stop on web break, deceleration at preset length, taper tension adjustment on the fly, and live data display – all of which reduce scrap and save money.
