Aluminum Foil Rewinding Machine

When it comes to finishing aluminium foil and other flexible web materials, this rewinding machine does a lot more than just rewind. It's an all-in-one unit that handles slitting, hydraulic loading, tension management, edge guiding, and trim removal. That makes it a good fit for the kind of precision work you see in foil, film, and paper packaging. And it's not limited to one material – it takes PE, PP, PET, BOPP, PVC, aluminium-plastic laminates, kraft paper, and cardboard, so you can use it across different product lines without much fuss.

The engineering behind it addresses some persistent headaches in this field – inconsistent slitting, tension that drifts, and edges that come out uneven. With this machine, those problems are largely kept in check. The finished rolls come out flatter, more uniform, and the built-in trimming unit cleans up burrs and rough edges as it runs, so the final product looks clean and presentable.

On the technical side, the working width is 1600 mm, with a roller width of 1650 mm, and the total slitting width stays under 1600 mm – which covers most narrow to medium-width applications. Material thickness can range from 0.012 mm (very thin foil) up to 0.3 mm (medium-thick packaging films). The unwind diameter maxes out at 800 mm, rewind at 600 mm, and tension is adjustable between 0 and 300 N. Accuracy for guiding and cutting is ±0.1 mm, so you're getting reliable precision. Top speed is 400 m/min, but you can dial it down depending on the material, giving you a good balance between quality and throughput.

Now, looking at the build: the unwinding frame is a single solid piece, and it comes with a hydraulic shaftless loading/unloading system that takes the heavy lifting out of the job. The automatic clamp and lift mechanism makes life easier for the operator. There's a 3-inch differential shaft plus two independent rewinding differential shafts, which keep tension steady even during long, high-speed runs. The web path follows an S-shape, with mirror-polished traction rollers and pneumatically adjustable nip rollers – this setup adapts to different materials and helps prevent wrinkling or sideways drift. For edge tracking, it uses a Bat Technology ultrasonic sensor as standard, with an option to upgrade to a German E+L system, both of which monitor the edge or print marks in real time to keep everything aligned.

The control side is powered by a Siemens PLC and a clear touchscreen interface. It offers smart features like roll diameter calculation, inertia compensation, length counting, and auto-stop, with counting accuracy down to ±1/1000 of a metre. The drives are high-precision asynchronous servo motors paired with Rexroth inverters, giving quick response and smooth torque. Power draw is about 23 kW, and it runs on standard three-phase 380V. They've also used quality components throughout – NSK bearings, Omron sensors, and Schneider electrics – so reliability is built in.

All in all, this machine delivers stable performance, good precision, and a decent level of automation, making it a solid, cost-effective option for manufacturers working with aluminium foil and flexible packaging materials.
