Duplex slitter machine, also referred to as a double-shaft slitting machine, is professional equipment used to cut wide-width rolls such as films and paper into multiple narrow-width finished products. Its core feature lies in two winding stations. While slitting, the duplex slitter machine can wind finished products onto two separate shafts to realize efficient continuous production.
Equipment Structure and Working Principle
The duplex slitter machine mainly consists of four core components: unwinding system, slitting system, winding system and control system.
Unwinding System: It smoothly unwinds large-diameter raw mother rolls and feeds materials into the processing zone. Normally fitted with a tension control system and photoelectric web-guide device, it keeps proper tension and correct material position during conveying to prevent deviation and wrinkles.
Slitting System: Serving as the core of the whole machine, it can be equipped with various blade assemblies including circular knives, straight knives and air knives according to different materials and accuracy requirements. The tool holder is generally driven by a servo motor together with high-precision ball screws and linear guides, so that materials can be accurately slit to the preset width.
Winding System: This is where the name "double-sided" comes from. Multiple slit narrow material strips are pulled to two independent winding shafts and wound up simultaneously. This design not only delivers fast working speed and high efficiency, but also produces neater and tighter finished rolls.
Control System: Modern double-sided slitting machines are mostly equipped with a PLC control system and a touch-screen operation interface. Operators can easily set key parameters such as slitting width, running speed and winding tension on the screen, and monitor the operating status of the equipment in real time.
